Step 1
Know your boat: history, inventory, owner(s), financing…
- Our priority is to establish an accurate history and inventory, highlighting your boat’s equipment and advantages in the listings.
- Our responsibility? To ensure that all listed items match the available invoices and documents. Original invoices, equipment invoices, maintenance invoices, and official documents are key elements.
- Our mission? To highlight your boat’s history, an important factor in reassuring the prospective buyer.
- Copy of the registration certificate / flag letter
- CE certificate from the manufacturer (if after 1998) or yard compliance certificate
- Identity document for each owner
- Proof of address
- Company registry (e.g., Kbis extract in France) for each owner if it is a company
- A certificate of no encumbrance
- Original purchase invoices if the boat is first-hand
- Copy of the buyback schedule if the boat is under a lease-to-own agreement (LOA)
- Survey reports, if available
- Invoices for additional equipment, maintenance, and servicing.
- History of work or expenses incurred, detailing the last three years.
First priority: ensure that the boat seller is indeed its owner
Second priority: the more documents we have, the more thorough and credible our file will be, and the less room there will be for negotiation. This builds buyer confidence and is also a key factor in encouraging foreign buyers to commit even before visiting.

Step 3
Formalize our relationship
- At Elissa Yachting, we do not work without a sales mandate, ensuring that the boats listed are genuinely managed by us.
- All contracts and certificates are signed electronically.
Next, exclusive or non-exclusive mandate? Exclusivity guarantees you access to additional services and full control over your listing.
Under a central agent mandate, you grant exclusivity to Elissa Yachting:
However, we remain the sole point of contact for the owner, complete the file with 360° images, and promote it extensively on social media: we prepare the boat meticulously.
We then commit to “open” this exclusive file to co-brokering. From that point, all professionals have access to the file and can present their clients. We will compensate them by sharing the commission.
The Elissa Yachting team prioritizes this type of file, able to dedicate more effort thanks to the exclusive mandate. Its effectiveness is far greater than that of a non-exclusive mandate.
Within this framework, you retain the freedom to:
- Sell your boat yourself.
- Sell your boat through another professional.
However, the mandate binds the owner (or LOA lessee) to a “public” sale price, which must be identical across all listings.
This type of mandate can lead to complex situations, particularly when two professionals identify the same client, and neither wants to lose the mandate and the client. Increasing the number of professionals offers little benefit, as Elissa Yachting already distributes the listings across all possible channels.

Step 5
Promote your listing
- A complete media plan tailored to each sailboat, yacht, or catamaran, ensuring the listings reach both French and international clients.
- Communication across more than 23 platforms, with boat listings shared on social media.
- A database of potential buyers with several thousand contacts.

Step 7
Finalize and secure the transaction
- By choosing to entrust us with the sale of your boat, you place your trust in a dedicated team.
- The deposit is paid into a dedicated escrow account.
- The balance of the sale can also be secured through a trust agreement, ensuring proper use and transfer of funds.
- We fully manage the sales process. Our service also includes coordinating technical operations, and upon request, we can handle administrative formalities (flag cancellation, registration, etc.).
