ACGB Consolation
MICHKA VI — Joubert aluminum centerboarder, ACGB Consolation, 11.50 m
An aluminum centerboarder designed by Joubert is a promise that speaks to all those who dream of voyaging. The name has signed generations of boats built to go far and come back anywhere. MICHKA VI, built in 1978 by the ACGB shipyard, belongs to that family of robust and clever sailing vessels that connoisseurs keep for a long time.
Aluminum gives it unbreakable solidity, the centerboard the rest. With the keel raised, it enters the anchorages that keelboat sailors can only watch from afar: cove bottoms, rivers, small fishing ports. On its beaching legs, it dries out without concern in tidal countries. You can thus spend the summer between Brittany and the Channel Islands, beach the boat at low tide, then head back down to the Mediterranean when winter comes.
Propulsion is entrusted to a Volvo Penta MD30 - 2024 of 30 hp, virtually new with less than 100 hours. For sails, the boat is equipped with a wardrobe signed Voilerie Rochard. The jib on roller furler is Bainbridge Dacron with anti-UV strip. The 30 m² mainsail is Dimension-Polyant Dacron with four battens, three reefs, and low-friction slides. These are serious cruising sails, built to last.
MICHKA VI is to be seen at Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, the ideal gateway to the Camargue, the Rhône, and all of the Mediterranean.
